YOUR BRIDGE QUERIES ANSWERED – PROBLEM 184

Your Bridge Queries Answered – Problem 184

Hi Ron

Yesterday, in 3NT, my partner got in with something, and led the 6 of diam. to a doubleton rag in dummy.  I won with the Queen.  I looked around the table and thought that she would have led a smaller one if she wanted diamonds back, and of course I led something else instead.

She said that the 6 was the fourth of her longest suit and that I should know that, and lead a diam. back to her K-J-x-x  She had the 2 of diam. that she could have led.

In the middle game is fourth the card to lead or should you lead a lower one (if you have one) to encourage your partner to lead it back?

How would you answer this query?
